Raymond mill and limestone

Limestone is a sedimentary rock mainly composed of calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), with calcite as the main mineral component. It often contains small amounts of dolomite, clay, quartz, or other impurities. When pure, it is white, and impurities give it different colors. The Mohs hardness of limestone is relatively low, about 3. Limestone is mostly formed in environments rich in calcium, such as shallow seas, coral reefs, or lakes.

Raymond mill is mainly used for powder processing of non-metallic minerals with a Mohs hardness less than 7 (such as limestone, calcite, barite, talc, marble, etc.). It is widely used in fields such as building materials, chemicals, metallurgy, and mining. It is the preferred equipment for limestone grinding and processing. The limestone products processed by Raymond mill have a wide range of applications, and limestone powders with different finenesses have different uses.

80 - 200 mesh: Can be used in block production, paint filling, and power plant desulfurization.

The process of Raymond mill grinding limestone into powder

The processing flow of limestone by Raymond mill includes four stages: pretreatment, powder grinding, classification, and finished product collection.

Preprocessing Stage: The crushing equipment reduces large limestones to a size of ≤30mm. If the raw material moisture content exceeds 5%, a dryer is required for drying.

Grinding Stage: During grinding, the crushed limestone particles are fed into the mill. Under the action of centrifugal force, the grinding rollers press against the grinding ring, crushing the limestone into powder.

Classification Stage: During classification, the fan lifts the powder, and the analyzer separates the particles by size. Coarse powder falls back for regrinding, while fine powder enters the cyclone collector. The fineness of the finished product and the output are controlled by adjusting the analyzer's rotation speed and the fan's airflow.

Finished Product Collection Stage: The cyclone separator and the pulse dust collector work together to ensure efficient collection of the finished powder and compliance with emission standards.
