Raymond Mill and Chromium Ore

Raymond Mill is often used to grind crushed chromium ore into powder (80 - 600 mesh). It is suitable for processing chemical-grade, refractory-grade, foundry-grade chromium ore and chromium powder required in other fields, with the products being chromium ore powders of different fineness. However, it is not applicable to the production of metallurgical-grade ferrochromium alloys.

Process of Processing Chromium Ore with Raymond Mill

Crushing

Raw ore (<350mm) is crushed to 50 - 80mm by a jaw crusher.

Intermediate and Fine Crushing

Then it is crushed to particles of <30mm by an impact crusher or cone crusher.

Drying

It is a key step. A rotary dryer or other equipment is used to reduce the moisture content of the material to below 1%, so as to prevent adhesion and blockage.

Milling

The dried ore is sent to the grinding chamber of the Raymond Mill through a hoist and feeder. The grinding roller crushes the material, the blower blows up the fine powder, and the analyzer classifies it. The fine powder that meets the fineness requirement enters the cyclone collector.

Collection and Dust Removal

The fine powder is separated and discharged in the cyclone collector, and the dust-containing gas is purified by a pulse bag filter and then discharged into the atmosphere.

Wear-Resistant Material

Grinding rollers and other components are made of high wear-resistant materials (such as high-chromium cast iron, nickel-chromium alloy), with surface hardness reaching HRC60 or above, and process parameters are optimized.

Operation and Maintenance

Select an appropriate model, control the feed particle size, ensure the material is dry, regularly check the fasteners, and ensure the foundation is firm.
