The Principle of Vertical Mill in Processing Barite

The working principle of vertical mill in processing barite can be summarized as follows: The motor drives the grinding disc to rotate through a reducer. The barite raw material falls from the feed inlet to the center of the grinding disc through the air-lock feeder. As the grinding disc rotates, the material moves to the edge. When it reaches the annular groove, it is strongly crushed by the grinding rollers pressurized by the hydraulic system, and the crushing is realized by virtue of the material bed effect. The crushed materials are blown up by hot air flow (provided by a hot blast stove or exhaust gas). Large particles fall back to the grinding disc for re-grinding, while fine powder enters the classifier along with the air flow. The unqualified coarse powder returns to the grinding disc for re-grinding, and the qualified fine powder finally enters the collection system. During the whole process, the hot air also completes the drying of the materials simultaneously.

Advantages of Vertical Mill in Processing Barite

In terms of grinding capacity, the advanced material bed grinding principle is adopted, which significantly improves the grinding efficiency and reduces energy consumption by 30% - 50%. The single-machine capacity ranges from several tons to hundreds of tons per hour. In terms of environmental protection, the motor power utilization rate is high, the dust emission concentration is lower than 30mg/m³, the noise is 20 - 30 decibels lower than that of traditional ball mills, and mechanical vibration is effectively controlled.

Process of Vertical Mill in Processing Barite

Crushing

The mined barite ore is large in size. First, it is roughly crushed to about 50 - 100mm by a jaw crusher, and then medium and finely crushed to below 25mm by a cone crusher or impact crusher to meet the feeding requirements of the mill.

Grinding

The crushed barite is transported to the storage bin by a bucket elevator, and then fed into the center of the grinding disc of the vertical mill by a vibrating feeder. The grinding disc rotates, and the centrifugal force makes the material move to the edge. The grinding roller crushes and grinds the material under the drive of the hydraulic system.

Classification

The classifier uses the principle of aerodynamics. The ground barite powder enters along with the air flow. Coarse particles are thrown to the outside of the classifier and fall back to the mill for secondary grinding. Fine particles enter the next process through the blade gap. The finished product particle size can be controlled by adjusting the rotation speed and blade angle.

Collection

Qualified barite powder enters the collector along with the air flow. The cyclone collector separates most of the powder, and the fine dust enters the pulse bag filter. The purified air is discharged, and the dust is blown down and collected when it accumulates to a certain extent, achieving zero emission. The finished barite powder is packaged by an automatic packaging machine and transported to various industrial fields.
