Raymond Mill and Blast Furnace Slag

In iron and steel production, blast furnace slag, as a by-product of ironmaking, has long been regarded as waste. It mainly contains calcium silicate, calcium aluminosilicate, etc. After water quenching and rapid cooling, it forms granulated blast furnace slag, which contains vitreous bodies and a small amount of crystalline phases and has potential hydraulic activity. With the improvement of technology and environmental protection awareness, people have found that grinding granular blast furnace slag into slag micropowder can be used as a high-quality concrete admixture. The Process of Processing Blast Furnace Slag with Raymond Mill

Feeding and Crushing

If the granulated blast furnace slag has high moisture content, it needs to be dried first, and then initially crushed to less than 30mm by a jaw crusher or a hammer crusher.

Grinding and Classification

The crushed materials are sent to the storage hopper by the elevator, and then evenly fed into the main machine by the feeder. They are squeezed and ground between the grinding rollers and the grinding ring. After being crushed, they rise to the classifier with the air flow. The coarser particles are thrown back to the grinding chamber for re-grinding, and the fine powder that meets the fineness requirements passes through.

Collection and Finished Products

The dusty air flow enters the cyclone collector, where most of the finished powder is separated and collected. The extremely fine dust is purified by the pulse bag filter and then merged into the finished product.

Waste Gas Emission

The purified air is discharged by the induced draft fan. Process diagram: Blast furnace slag → crushing → lifting → storage hopper → feeder → Raymond mill main machine → classifier → cyclone collector → finished product (bag filter → induced draft fan → exhaust).

By adjusting the rotation speed of the classifier, 80-600 mesh powder can be produced, which meets the requirements of general slag powder. It has a high degree of automation, forms a closed system, has little dust pollution, can be centrally controlled, and conforms to the concept of environmental protection and high efficiency. The initial investment cost is low, which is suitable for small and medium-sized mineral powder production lines.
